Many of our libraries automatically renew checkouts whenever possible.  However, your loan may have been provided by a library that chooses not to auto-renew its loans.  Our "Items may be due soon" email combines items that are almost due along with items that were auto-renewed.  If an item has been auto-renewed, the due date shown reflects that new due date.

Why wasn't my item renewed?

There are several possible reasons that an item checked out to you might not be renewed.  Some reasons include:

• the item has been requested by another patron

• the item has already been renewed the maximum number of times

• the item was borrowed from a library that does not automatically renew items (in this case, you should still be able to sign into your account and manually renew it)

Items borrowed from a STELLA library can be returned at any other STELLA library.
