Polaris ILS w/ Leap Web Client

Innovative Polaris ILS provides web-based access for staff and customizable settings for each library. It includes robust APIs and integration with third party vendors, accompanied by STELLA support.

Polaris Integrated Library System (ILS) from Innovative Interfaces, part of Clarivate™, has been awarded Platinum distinction by Library Works’ 2025 Modern Library Awards, an annual program that recognizes excellence in products and services for libraries.

SkyRiver

Use SkyRiver to catalog your material or ask our catalogers to create new MARC records for titles if suitable records are not available elsewhere.

Original Cataloging + Record Loading

If you cannot find an existing record for your recently acquired items, provide us with the information and our experienced catalogers will create original catalog records for you.  We can also load MARC records that you provide into the ILS.

Polaris Acquisitions

Ordering, receiving, and invoicing workflows are available to help you manage your material purchasing and budgeting.

SimplyReports

A web-based reporting tool with a user-friendly interface, SimplyReports allows library staff to create custom reports without needing in-depth knowledge of SQL. Whether you need a dusty book list for a summer weeding project or circulation statistics for collection development, SimplyReports makes it easy with just a few clicks. Export reports to Excel or schedule them daily or monthly.

LibraryIQ Analytics

LibraryIQ provides statistics and reports so that you can assess activity levels, customer service, and analyze your collection.

Custom Reports

STELLA works with member libraries to provide management statistics and reports that aid in assessing activity levels, customer service, and collection analysis.  If it’s not available as a pre-configured report, let us know and we’ll help you find what you need!

Google Workspace for Nonprofits

STELLA maintains a subscription to Google Workspace for all member libraries, available at no additional cost. Use your own library domain to maintain your branding while STELLA provides the support. Email accounts start at 30GB per account, which can be increased if needed, and includes most Google Suite products (Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Drive, etc.)

STELLA Intranet

Our staff portal offers knowledge base articles, step-by-step tutorials, recorded webinars, and commonly used request forms, among many other resources.

Email Groups

STELLA operates listservs for each of its committees and task forces, as well as other groups.  We also host several general discussion listservs on various library-related topics that are open to all member library staff.  Staff at libraries with Google Workspace through STELLA manage listserv access at groups.google.com, and all members can request assistance through our Help Center.

STELLA’s general announcement listserv, List: All, is used to announce system-wide updates, library closures, and more.

Onboarding

Dedicated STELLA staff and Innovative project managers work with incoming libraries to configure the ILS and map library data for migration. Training is provided in person, virtual and pre-recorded to accommodate multiple learning styles, and STELLA staff are in-person for new member library go-live days.

Training

Our Annual Circulation Summit and Bibliographic Summit provides opportunities for member library staff to gather, network, and learn the latest policies and tips. Technology tips are shared throughout the consortium monthly to help libraries stay informed on the latest trends and cybersecurity awareness.

Training Server

A training server is available for all member libraries and is frequently refreshed with data from our production ILS. This server can be used when training new staff, or to test out large scale operations (eg. Bulk changes on thousands of items) prior to running those commands on the production ILS server.

Authentication Services

STELLA offers SIP2 and API unlimited licenses for all member libraries to connect to other services, self check systems, lockers, automated material handling, and more!  Work with vendors that require patron authentication—for example, remote access to online databases restricted to authorized patrons.

Patron Services

STELLA App

Powered by Solus, each member library has their own template for custom colors, themes, logos, links and more. You can fully control your patron’s view of the STELLA app or STELLA staff can assist as desired. The app lets you showcase your library’s resources and provides event and room booking integration. It can be customized with features including contactless checkout.

Vega Interact SMS Messaging

Patrons receive text message notification when their holds are available for pickup along with useful text reminders for renewal and overdues. Reliable delivery (not using legacy email-to-text gateway), SMS delivery compliance, and multiple languages supported.

LX Starter

Library staff can edit most email transaction notices to include local branding (logo, colors, graphics, etc.), market collections, programs, and services, and provide timely information to patrons.  Each notice can be configured in multiple languages, which is distributed based on patron language preference in the ILS.

Vega Interact Phone Alerts

Patrons can receive automated calls about their item availability, or call in to the automated system to renew items and obtain account information.

Vega Program

Calendaring, events management and room booking module from Innovative & Solus lets you promote your events with your own online calendar.

Easily manage library events through registration forms, landing web pages, automated event flyers, and attendee communications. Patrons can view available rooms and self-book study rooms or program spaces.

Integrates with the STELLA app—patrons can view and register for events, and even book rooms right from their mobile device!

PatronPoint

Email marketing tool (soon to be Vega Promote) lets you engage with your community. Send customized emails to your patrons, e-blast notices, regular newsletters, as well as automated campaigns.

Vega Discover

Vega Discover provides an intuitive catalog and accessible interface. Built with modern data standards, Discover offers format rollups, responsive design, easy list/showcase creation, and lots more!

Vega Discover is an engaging online catalog for patrons. Leveraging linked data and a simple user interface, libraries can offer an experience that not only meets the needs of their patrons, but an experience that sparks curiosity and discovery. Vega Discover earned Platinum Recognition in the 2024 and 2025 Modern Library Awards

Syndetics Unbound

Complete catalog enrichment solution helps patrons engage with the online catalog with features including You May Also Like, Reader Reviews, Professional Reviews, and About the Author.

Item Showcases

Libraries can create showcases for display on their unique catalog sites, or embed them onto their own homepages, mailing campaigns and more. STELLA provides curated showcases such as NYT Bestsellers.

eLibraryNJ

All STELLA members receive access to eLibraryNJ, powered by OverDrive. Patrons enjoy the Libby app with compatibility for reading eBooks on Kindle. STELLA maintains an Advantage+ collection to reduce wait times for popular items, and each member library can create their own Advantage or Advantage+ account to provide additional copies and titles for their patrons.

Averaging 1.5 million checkouts per year, eLibraryNJ provides over 55,000 titles with close to 100,000 copies. Access includes the full OverDrive Magazines collection.

hoopla

Each member receives a hoopla subscription with $50/month towards their budgeting (called Hoopla Starter). Members can select their own budgets and restrictions on access for their patrons to maintain financial control.

SmartPAY

Online fine and bill payment service lets patrons pay their bills online through the online catalog. Reports are automatically run and every 6 months checks are sent to member library for funds collected.

Open Borrowing

5 million choices, 1 library card. In person borrowing from over 75 public libraries throughout nearby participating systems Main Library Alliance, PalsPlus and SWELL. Click here for more information….

Group Purchasing and Member Discounts

Windows Laptops and Chromebooks

Each Fall member libraries can participate in group purchases of Windows Laptops and Chromebooks. Purchasing in volume lowers the pricing, and we generally obtain significant savings over state contract pricing.

Windows Desktops and Monitors

Each Spring member libraries can participate in group purchases of Windows Desktops and Monitors. Desktops average a cost of $750-$800 and have the latest specs (Intel Core i5 with vPro, 16GB of RAM, 512GB HD, WiFi, Bluetooth, Windows 11 Pro) and include 5 years of Dell ProSupport.

STELLA Supported Peripherals

Receipt printers, barcode scanners, label printers and other peripherals that are tested to work with STELLA services and include support from our staff.

Brainfuse

Brainfuse provides patrons online homework help, writing lab assistance, test prep, and support for job-seekers, veteran assistance and more.

Comprise SAM

PC reservation and print management solution available at a discounted price for STELLA members. Our Technology Committee is currently evaluating similar products (TBS, Envisionware, LibData) to select our next computer management product.

Faronics Deep Freeze Cloud

STELLA-wide license provides Deep Freeze Cloud Edition including Reboot to Restore, managed third party applications, Windows updates, OS deployment, usage stats and analytics, remote control and antivirus protections. This is an ideal software to protect your public PCs from viruses, malware and unwanted changes between patron sessions.

Faronics Deploy

For staff PCs, we offer Faronics Deploy which provides managed third party applications, Windows updates, OS deployment, remote control and anti-virus protection. You’ll have complete control over all of your computers at your library with Faronics Cloud products through STELLA.

Sonicwall Firewalls

STELLA can install and manage your library’s SonicWall firewall as well as provide remote access to them as needed.  We work closely with a SonicWall partner to provide continued support.

FacilitySight

A unique solution for people counting utilizing cameras at your main entry doors, or an occupancy camera for use in meeting rooms or reservable study rooms. They have a web-based platform for analytics that provide insight into your foot traffic and room utilization. Discount pricing exclusively for STELLA members along with consortium support.

LibraryIQ Community Survey Cohorts Add-on

This optional add-on for LibraryIQ provides a snapshot of your community demographics. Member libraries receive STELLA-negotiated pricing.

MuseumKey

Manage museum passes for your patrons and staff with MuseumKey, available with or without ILS integration.

StackMap

Enhance your custom view of Vega Discover with integrated floor plans helping patrons find items within your building. Patrons will see a visual map with the stack identified where they can find the items they’re looking for. STELLA members have negotiated pricing through the consortium.

TitleSource 360

Basic and Web versions including additional user IDs and Booklist available at a negotiated discount for member libraries.

Wowbrary

Offer automated emails and RSS feeds to your patrons with alerts of your library’s newest books, movies & music!
