Recover Your Pin / Passcode

If you do not know your PIN / passcode to sign into the library catalog or digital service, first try the last four digits of the phone number on record in your library account.

If that doesn’t work—and your account includes an email address—you can reset your Passcode by visiting the STELLA library catalog (search.stellanj.org), clicking Log In at the top right of the screen, and then clicking I forgot my passcode at the bottom of the login window:

On the next screen, enter your library card number, and the system will verify the email associated with that library account:

The system will then send a reset link to the email address found in that account:

If it doesn’t show up in your inbox, check your spam folder for emails from no-reply@iiivega.com.  The link expires after 5 minutes.  If that happens, the process will need to be repeated from the beginning.

When the link to reset credentials is used, the Create New Passcode window appears.  Enter your new passcode and type it again to confirm it, then choose Save Passcode.  Once completed successfully, the new passcode is in place and can be used to log in to the library catalog, Libby, or any other library service that requires your passcode.

For privacy and security reasons, library staff are unable to look up your passcode.  You are encouraged choose a secure and meaningful passcode and/or use a password management system.

If you don’t already have an email address in your library account, the above method will not work.  If that happens, or if following the steps above is not successful, we encourage you to reach out to your library directly.
